{"id":931,"date":"2015-07-15T09:37:13","date_gmt":"2015-07-15T09:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mid-med.com\/?page_id=931"},"modified":"2017-06-05T13:09:38","modified_gmt":"2017-06-05T13:09:38","slug":"the-treatment-of-obesity","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mid-med.com\/en\/surgery\/the-treatment-of-obesity\/","title":{"rendered":"The treatment of obesity"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The goal of obesity treatment is to reach and stay at a healthy weight.<br \/>\nThe objective is to help the patient understand the illness, to alleviate it&#8217;s effects, to treat the comorbidity where necessary and to assist in the modification of life style.<\/h2>\n<p>The treatment of this multifaceted illness can not be limited to a diet.<br \/>\nSince\u00a02012, 37 Special Obesity Centres\u00a0(CSO&#8217;s) have been designated by the French health authorities HAS (Haute Autorit\u00e9 de Sant\u00e9).<\/p>\n<p>The treatment must be tailored \u00a0to each \u00a0patient and executed by experienced physicians : <strong>The multidisciplinary team.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Weight-loss surgery, or\u00a0bariatric surgery, is an option. Weight-loss surgery limits the amount of food you&#8217;re able to comfortably eat or decreases the absorption of food and calories or both.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Surgery can be offered as part of this treatment.
